Just a bit of an update in advance
of the reunion. I will be bringing my husband
Stephen to whom I've been married for the last 20 years.
When we met in 1985, I was home on R&R from Beijing,
China, where I was completing an assignment at the
American Embassy with the U.S. Department of State.
I met "Steph" on a blind date, and well, the rest is
history. After my mother passed in 1966 I moved to
San Diego, graduated from San Diego State University,
and then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Clinical
Psychology from Jacksonville State University.
When I was in high school my
greatest dream was to spend the rest of my life
traveling the world. I could not imagine living on this
finite planet without knowing everything I could about
it. I have been able to fulfill that dream to a
large degree, and Steph and I continue to make plans for
future travel. I've been an environmental activist all
of my adult life and cofounded the Mountain Defense
League in the 70's with a friend in San Diego, CA. I've
never had children - by choice - and never regretted it.
I am currently teaching psychology at Olympic College in
Poulsbo and this could be the last reinvention of myself
prior to really, truly retiring. It has been a
great ride and I'm not ready for it to be over. I am
truly looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion
absent the awkwardness and self consciousness I felt
while in high school.
